Audio ... an author's new medium

I've had the opportunity to write a lot of different type of work, short stories, science fiction, non-fiction, and as a publisher for others. This has given me the opportunity to turn the written into the audible (no pun intended). Audio is not necessarily a NEW medium, but it is gaining popularity. With our extended commutes to the office or road trips that are cheaper than flying, audiobooks and podcasts have earned a place in our world. This means that audio is truly an author's new medium.
I've recently had the opportunity to work with two different voice actors/narrators for my recent work as well as the work for Dee James. I find it interesting how audio changes the way a book sounds in my mind. Obviously when I read a book the narrator is my own thoughts and thus in my own voice. However, with audio that changes everything. It is like being read to when you're a child. Someone else's voice adds a dynamic that you don't get when reading a book yourself.
In my book, The Art to Writing for TTRPGS, I recently received the final audio recording from the voice actor and I have to say even my own words have a distinct and engaging feeling that I don't otherwise get from my own writing or rereading of what I've written. I've approved the final audio after listening to the entirety and I can not express how elated and excited I am to have this book available in this NEW medium.
Expect to see the audiobook announcement for The Art to Writing for TTRPGS: A guide to worldbuilding, storytelling, and encounter design soon! It generally takes a couple of weeks to finish the final touches before release.
On a final note, I am now on chapter 10 of Shadow Freight, the first in my new Dark Matter Delivery shared universe. I am also working on engaging a cover design artist so be on the lookout for an announcement. Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a great day.
